Five Descriptions Of Sin

The Plowing Of The Wicked

Proverbs 21:4 (KJV) An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

The Thought Of The Foolish

Proverbs 24:9 (KJV) The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

Whatsoever Is Not Of Faith

Romans 14:22 (KJV) Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

Romans 14:23 (KJV) And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Knoweth To Do Good, And Doeth It Not

James 4:11 (KJV) Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

James 4:12 (KJV) There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

James 4:13 (KJV) Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

James 4:14 (KJV) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

James 4:15 (KJV) For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

James 4:16 (KJV) But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

James 4:17 (KJV) Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Sin Is The Transgression Of The Law

1 John 3:1 (KJV) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 John 3:2 (KJV) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 John 3:3 (KJV) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1 John 3:4 (KJV) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: FOR SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW.

1 John 3:5 (KJV) And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
